Climate-tech startup Beyond Renewables & Recycling has raised Rs 5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Momentum Capital, a US-based venture capital firm, with participation from Venture Catalysts, IIMA Ventures, Oorjan Cleantech, and angel investor Gautam Das.
Funding Snapshot
The fresh capital will be used to advance proprietary recycling technology, strengthen solar waste supply chains, and scale operations across India — addressing the nation’s emerging solar waste challenge.
Building a Circular Economy for Solar
Founded in 2024 by Manhar Dixit and Vedant Taneja, Beyond Renewables & Recycling focuses on creating a circular economy for the solar industry. Its proprietary technology recovers over 95% of materials from end-of-life solar panels, including high-purity glass, silicon, silver, copper, and aluminum — transforming hazardous waste into valuable raw materials.
Tackling a Looming Waste Challenge
According to market projections, India could generate 1.2 million tons of solar PV waste by 2040, potentially rising to 4.8 million tons under an early-loss scenario. Beyond Renewables’ innovative process — combining thermal and chemical treatments — ensures sustainable material recovery and reduced landfill impact.
Partnerships and Market Expansion
The startup has established a multi-channel waste sourcing network, partnering with solar developers, EPC firms, and manufacturers to ensure a consistent supply of recyclable materials. With over 2,000 metric tons of solar waste already secured, Beyond Renewables plans to expand partnerships across the renewable value chain.
Supported by IIT Mandi Catalyst and NSRCEL, the company has also secured Letters of Intent (LOIs) for recycled glass, silicon, and metals positioning itself as a frontrunner in India’s solar circular economy.
