Drone avionics and UAV sub-components startup ZeroDrag has raised ₹6.5 crore in a seed funding round led by Transition VC.

Earlier, the startup had secured ₹1.2 crore in a pre-seed funding round from Enrission India Capital and angel investors in September 2023.

Focus on Indigenous UAV Electronics and Drone Infrastructure

The company said the fresh capital will be used to expand research and development capabilities, scale manufacturing, strengthen testing and quality infrastructure, stabilise supply chains, and accelerate development of next-generation UAV avionics for Indian and global markets.

Founded in 2022 by Amit Nimje and Shantanu Bhede, the Nagpur-based startup develops indigenous electronics, communication systems, and autonomy-ready hardware for drones.

Its product portfolio includes autopilots, motor controllers, GNSS modules, telemetry systems, communication infrastructure, and payload integration systems designed for drone OEMs, enterprise UAV platforms, FPV users, and industrial applications.

Defence and Industrial Drone Demand Drives Growth

ZeroDrag supplies UAV sub-components to drone manufacturers operating across defence, agriculture, logistics, and industrial sectors.

The company follows an OEM-agnostic and application-agnostic model, enabling compatibility across multiple drone platforms and use cases.

Over the next 12–24 months, the startup plans to expand into enterprise-grade UAV hardware, including systems for heavy-lift drones and future eVTOL platforms.

ZeroDrag competes with global players such as Holybro, Caddx, SpeedyBee, and HGLRC in the drone electronics and avionics market.
