Semiconductor startup C2i Semiconductors has extended its Series A funding round to $16.7 million, with TDK Ventures participating in both the original raise and the oversubscribed extension round.

Earlier this year, the Bengaluru-based company had raised $15 million in the first tranche of its Series A round led by Peak XV Partners, alongside participation from Yali Capital and TDK Ventures.

Focus on AI Data Centre Power Management

The startup said the fresh capital will be used to expand operations and accelerate product development.

Founded in June 2024 by Ram Anant, Vikram Gakhar, Preetam Tadeparthy, Dattatreya Suryanarayana, Harsha S B, and Muthusubramanian N V, the company develops power management solutions for AI data centres and cloud infrastructure.

C2i focuses on system-level innovations aimed at improving how power flows from the grid to processor cores in AI computing environments.

Proprietary Chip Technology Targets Efficiency Gains

The company’s platform includes technologies such as the Manas Controller, Sarayu Power Stage, and Modular Scalability architecture, designed to support high-current AI applications and flexible voltage regulation.

Recently, C2i announced the tape-out of its smart power stage chip developed entirely in India by its in-house semiconductor engineering team.

According to the startup, its platform can deliver over 96% power conversion efficiency compared to approximately 94% offered by existing market solutions.

In large-scale AI data centres, the company estimates these gains could generate nearly $12 million in annual energy savings while reducing processor temperatures by up to 4°C, potentially extending AI hardware lifespan.

The development comes amid rapidly rising AI infrastructure investments, with global AI infrastructure capex projected to touch $500–600 billion over the next 12–18 months.
