STCH Raises $7M to Scale AI-Driven Fabric Manufacturing

0

STCH has raised $7 million (around Rs 66 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Omnivore, with participation from Kae Capital and WVC. The funding highlights rising investor interest in AI-led transformation of textile manufacturing and supply chains.

Capital to build R&D and expand AI capabilities

The proceeds will be used to expand AI capabilities, set up a fabric R&D lab, deepen manufacturing partnerships, and scale delivery across key global markets. The company is focusing on strengthening both its technology and supply-side infrastructure.

Building a CDMO platform for fashion brands

Founded in 2025 by former Zetwerk executives Narahari Payala and Aseem Chitkara, STCH operates a contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) platform for fashion businesses. Unlike typical AI startups, it focuses on fabric innovation, sourcing, and production enablement rather than consumer-facing applications.

AI-led fabric identification and rapid production

The platform analyses product images and descriptions to identify fabric attributes such as texture, weight, and finish, and then recreates similar materials through its partner network. STCH claims it can take fabrics from concept to production in ~45 days, significantly reducing turnaround time.

Global demand with India-led manufacturing backbone

STCH primarily works with brands in the UK and Europe, while manufacturing is carried out through partner factories across India and Bangladesh. This model combines global demand with cost-efficient regional production.

Market context: Rise of AI in manufacturing supply chains

As fashion brands look for faster, flexible sourcing solutions, startups like STCH are building AI-driven manufacturing infrastructure. The space is gaining traction, with peers like Whizzo also raising capital to innovate in materials and textile supply chains.
