Flexprice has raised $1.5 million in a seed funding round led by Shastra VC, with participation from TDV Partners and People Group founder Anupam Mittal. The funding comes amid rising demand for usage-based billing infrastructure tailored to AI-native and API-first companies.
Expanding product suite beyond billing
The fresh capital will be used to expand into the US and Europe while building products beyond billing, including metering, revenue recognition, and financial reporting tools. Founded in 2024, Flexprice develops open-source billing infrastructure that helps AI companies manage pricing across API calls, token usage, GPU hours, and hybrid billing models.
Strong growth and scaling infrastructure
According to the company, its revenue grew 6X in the last quarter, while event processing volume surged 20X over the past year to more than 20 billion events per month. The startup is headquartered in New Delhi, with teams in Bengaluru and San Francisco, supporting both product development and global expansion.
Growing demand for AI-native financial infrastructure
As AI companies increasingly adopt consumption-based pricing models, startups like Flexprice are emerging as critical infrastructure providers for billing and revenue operations. The funding also aligns with Shastra VC’s $100 million focus on AI and deeptech startups, highlighting broader investor interest in AI-native enterprise infrastructure.
