API driven telephony infrastructure startup Vobiz.ai has raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by Piper Serica VC Fund, as it looks to build a next generation communication layer for AI-powered voice applications.
The company said the fresh capital will be used to strengthen its engineering capabilities and scale go-to-market efforts, as demand for AI-native communication infrastructure continues to rise.
Founded in 2025 by Suman Gandham and Vikash Srivastava, Vobiz.ai is building low latency, secure voice infrastructure designed specifically for AI voice agents. The platform aims to address key limitations of traditional telephony systems, which often struggle with latency, programmability, and real time responsiveness required for conversational AI.
The Bengaluru based startup offers features such as instant DID provisioning, low latency SIP trunking, real time audio streaming, noise cancellation, and compliance automation, enabling developers to integrate voice capabilities into AI applications more efficiently. It also provides optimized call bridging for AI response cycles and supports real time integration with large language models.
Vobiz.ai’s positioning comes at a time when the global voice AI market is projected to reach $32.47 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 29%. As enterprises increasingly adopt conversational AI for customer engagement, the need for reliable, scalable voice infrastructure is becoming critical.
The startup plans to expand its carrier partnerships, DID inventory, and real time streaming capabilities over the next 12–18 months, while also introducing advanced observability and enterprise grade compliance tools.
Operating in a competitive space, Vobiz.ai faces established players such as Exotel, Plivo, Twilio, Telnyx, and Ubona. However, it is betting on its AI-first architecture and developer centric approach to differentiate itself in the evolving market.
