upGrad, India’s leading integrated skilling and lifelong learning platform, has appointed Deepesh Dhakad as its Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), effective October 2025.
In his new role, Deepesh will oversee product, design, and technology functions across upGrad’s learner and enterprise verticals, with a mandate to strengthen the company’s scalability, innovation, and user experience across global markets.
Seasoned Technology Leader with Two Decades of Experience
With nearly 20 years of experience, Deepesh brings a rich background in product leadership and large-scale platform management. Before joining upGrad, he held senior roles at Amazon, Flipkart, Unacademy, and Games24x7, where he led product and technology teams catering to millions of global users.
His expertise spans AI-driven systems, user engagement, data-driven product growth, and design-led innovation areas that align closely with upGrad’s push to integrate advanced technologies into its learning ecosystem.

Founded in 2015, upGrad operates across B2C and enterprise learning, offering degree, diploma, and certification programs in collaboration with leading Indian and global universities. The company has also expanded into hybrid learning formats and corporate upskilling, positioning itself as a leader in the professional education landscape.
upGrad has raised over $320 million in funding to date. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Temasek holds a 20.5% stake, while Ronnie Screwvala and family own 45% of the company.
