Pine Labs has expanded its presence in the Philippines through a partnership with GCash for Business, the merchant solutions arm of the country’s leading digital wallet platform.

Under the collaboration, Pine Labs will provide merchant payment infrastructure for GCash, enabling businesses to access features such as installment payment plans, loyalty rewards, cashback programmes, and support for multiple payment methods including card and QR-based transactions.

The partnership is also aimed at strengthening digital payment access for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines through Pine Labs’ commerce and point-of-sale technology stack.

GCash for Business currently offers products such as PocketPay, which converts smartphones into point-of-sale devices, along with SoundPay, a real-time payment confirmation solution for merchants.

The platform has additionally launched merchant focused devices including SoundPay Plus and EasyPOS to support digital payment adoption across retail businesses.

Following the integration of Pine Labs’ technology, merchants operating on the GCash network will be able to seamlessly accept both QR-code and card based payments through a unified infrastructure layer.

Pine Labs already operates in the Philippines through its local entity and works with banks, merchants, and financial institutions across the market. The company also powers gift card programmes for SM Retail in the country.

Founded in India, Pine Labs has evolved into a global fintech infrastructure platform operating across markets including India, Malaysia, Singapore, the UAE, Australia, the United States, the Philippines, and parts of Africa.

The company provides solutions spanning digital payments, merchant commerce, issuing infrastructure, loyalty programmes, and embedded fintech services.

The latest partnership reflects growing digital payment adoption across Southeast Asia, where fintech firms are increasingly collaborating with large consumer payment platforms to strengthen merchant acceptance networks and expand financial inclusion.
