Mekr has raised ₹67 crore (around $7 million) in a Series A funding round led by Avaana Capital, with participation from Titan Capital’s Winners Fund.
The consumer electronics design and manufacturing startup said the fresh capital will be used to strengthen research and development capabilities, expand manufacturing automation, localise supplier networks, improve quality systems, and scale exports.
Founded in 2022 by Anand Yadav and Gaurang Kuchhal, Mekr operates as a full stack product design and manufacturing platform for consumer appliance brands.
The startup offers end-to-end solutions across product design, prototyping, tooling, certification, and mass manufacturing, enabling brands to outsource appliance development and production.
Mekr currently works across categories including home and kitchen appliances, personal care products, and automotive accessories.
According to the company, it has developed more than 100 stock-keeping units (SKUs) and partnered with over 40 brands, including Croma, Wipro, Amazon’s Amazon Basics, and Flipkart.
The startup builds products using modular engineering systems such as BLDC motor systems, heating technologies, load cells, and in-house mould design capabilities.
The funding comes amid rising investor interest in India’s electronics manufacturing and product engineering ecosystem as companies increasingly look to localise supply chains and reduce dependence on imports.
Government initiatives such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and growing domestic consumption have also accelerated investments in electronics manufacturing and design led hardware startups.
Mekr’s model aligns with the broader shift toward India becoming a global manufacturing hub for consumer electronics and appliances, particularly in categories where brands are seeking faster product development cycles and flexible manufacturing partnerships.
The company also plans to strengthen export capabilities as it scales production and expands its presence in global markets.
