AI software delivery platform Harness has announced a massive $240 million Series E funding round, marking a significant milestone for the fast-growing company. The round includes a $200 million investment led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, alongside a $40 million planned tender offer with participation from existing investors IVP, Menlo Ventures, and Unusual Ventures. The latest funding pegs Harness’s valuation at $5.5 billion, reflecting strong market confidence in its mission to streamline and automate the modern engineering lifecycle.
As AI transforms how software is created, Harness is focusing on what comes after code is written a phase that consumes up to 70% of engineering effort. While teams spend only 30–40% of their time writing code, the remainder goes into critical but complex processes such as testing, deployment, security, compliance, and optimization. These interconnected workflows often remain manual, creating friction and slowing development velocity.
With AI dramatically increasing code output sometimes by up to 4x organizations are facing mounting pressure to efficiently test, secure, and deploy this growing volume of code. The surge in AI-generated development has widened the gap between accelerated coding and safe, reliable software delivery.
Harness aims to close this gap with Harness AI, its unified, intelligence driven system built to handle “everything after code.” The new funding will accelerate the platform’s evolution, enabling deeper automation and more powerful AI models. Harness AI combines autonomous agents, organizational context, and advanced orchestration to turn traditionally manual workflows into smart, adaptive, and automated processes.
By leveraging AI to eliminate downstream bottlenecks, Harness aims to significantly boost engineering productivity and reliability. The company’s expanded funding underscores growing market demand for a comprehensive, AI-native solution that manages the entire software delivery lifecycle from code testing to deployment and beyond.
This latest investment positions Harness as a key innovator in the rapidly evolving AI-driven DevOps and software delivery ecosystem.
