Tata owned online food and grocery company BigBasket has appointed Arpit Jaiswal as its Chief Growth Officer (CGO), strengthening its leadership team as the company sharpens focus on profitable growth and category leadership.
In his new role, Jaiswal will lead growth across product, user acquisition, retention, and market expansion. He will work closely with cross functional teams to deepen customer engagement, improve monetization efficiency, and scale BigBasket’s presence across urban and emerging markets.
Jaiswal joins from Google Pay, where he served as Head of Growth and Group Product Manager. During his tenure, he led large scale user acquisition through partnerships and AI-led interventions, while also focusing on operational expenditure management and P&L optimization for India operations.
According to Jaiswal, BigBasket has built a strong platform in a category becoming increasingly essential in everyday life. He said he aims to contribute to the company’s next phase of growth by enhancing customer value, scale, and efficiency.
The appointment comes as BigBasket continues building a more data driven growth strategy, balancing rapid expansion with long-term value creation.
BigBasket currently offers delivery across 30,000+ products, including groceries, fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, medicines, and household essentials.
The company has a presence in 60+ cities, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, and operates through a network of 850+ dark stores across India.
