KPI Green Energy Ltd has signed contract agreements with state-owned SJVN Ltd to develop a 200 MW (AC) solar power project at the GIPCL Renewable Energy Park in Khavda, Gujarat. Valued at ₹696.50 crore (excluding GST), the project marks a significant expansion of KPI Green’s utility-scale solar footprint and strengthens its position as a dependable EPC partner for large renewable assets.
Turnkey Role Across Supply, EPC, and O&M
Under the agreement, KPI Green will take full responsibility for supplying all plant and equipment required for the project, adhering to SJVN’s approved specifications and quality standards. The scope includes erection, installation, civil and structural work, unloading, storage, handling, and complete site execution. The company will also conduct testing, commissioning, and performance demonstrations to meet operational acceptance benchmarks.
The project is structured through three contracts — Supply, EPC, and O&M — collectively giving KPI Green complete turnkey accountability. Additionally, the company will manage three years of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) after COD, covering spare parts, consumables, and performance obligations.
Strengthening Presence in Utility-Scale Renewable Projects
KPI Green’s leadership described the win as a milestone in its long-term growth plan. Chairman and MD Faruk G Patel said the contract with a major Government of India enterprise validates the company’s technical capability and execution record. The Khavda project adds to KPI Green’s rising presence across India’s renewable energy clusters.
SJVN’s Renewable Expansion Strategy
SJVN Ltd — a joint venture between the Government of India and the Himachal Pradesh government — continues diversifying from hydropower into solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects. The Khavda development aligns with its broader mandate to scale clean energy capacity nationwide.
Final Take
The ₹696.5 crore order represents a strong vote of confidence in private EPC firms driving India’s renewable infrastructure. As Khavda evolves into a major solar hub, KPI Green’s latest mandate strengthens its role in India’s long-term transition to clean energy.
