Apple’s top global suppliers are rapidly scaling their India operations as the company accelerates its shift away from China, according to a report by The Economic Times. From fresh land acquisitions to trial production and early-stage exports, multiple vendors are deepening their local footprint across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
TD Connex Prepares ₹200 Crore Expansion in Tamil Nadu
Singapore-based TD Connex, which already runs a precision manufacturing unit in Oragadam, plans to invest ₹200 crore to expand capacity. The supplier is reportedly in the process of acquiring 20 acres to scale production of micro-precision components used in iPhone housings. Its capabilities span CNC machining, plastic injection, metal stamping, liquid silicone rubber and moulding critical functions for casing and structural components.
Yuzhan Technology Begins Display Module Exports
Yuzhan Technology, a Foxconn subsidiary, has begun operations at its new display module assembly facility in Tamil Nadu. The unit has already started exporting assembled display modules to Foxconn factories outside India for select iPhone models, signalling a new layer of value-added manufacturing moving into the country.
India’s iPhone Exports Hit $10 Billion
Apple’s supply-chain expansion comes alongside record export performance. In the first half of FY25–26, iPhone exports touched $10 billion, up 75% from $5.71 billion a year ago. Foxconn and Tata Electronics manufacture the bulk of Apple’s devices in India, but the supplier ecosystem continues to widen as new vendors enter.
Aequs Added to Apple’s Global Supply Chain
Karnataka-based Aequs has formally joined Apple’s global vendor list. The company has begun trial production of MacBook enclosures and Apple Watch mechanical components. Its electronics SEZ in Hubballi, approved in June 2025, has welcomed Aequs Ltd as its first tenant.
Foxconn Scales Hiring in Karnataka
Foxconn is ramping up hiring at its Devanahalli plant, which is expected to become one of its largest facilities globally as Apple grows its India manufacturing hub.
