Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries has signed an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to set up a 1 GW artificial intelligence (AI) data centre, marking one of the largest AI infrastructure commitments in Asia. The announcement was made at the CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Visakhapatnam, in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, and Reliance Executive Director P M S Prasad.

A Twin to Jamnagar’s Gigawatt-Scale AI Hub

The proposed facility will operate as a twin to Reliance’s gigawatt-scale AI data centre in Jamnagar. It will be equipped to host cutting-edge GPUs, TPUs, and custom AI accelerators, forming a nationwide network aimed at powering high-intensity computational workloads.

Reliance said the project is part of its mission to democratise AI access, enabling students, farmers, startups, and families to use advanced AI tools through the MyJio platform.

6 GWp Solar Project to Power AI Infrastructure

To ensure sustainable operations, Reliance will also develop a 6 GWp solar power plant in the state, aligning with its long-term commitment to green energy and carbon reduction.

Expanding Infrastructure and Manufacturing Footprint

The company reaffirmed its ongoing investments across retail, digital, and oil & gas operations in Andhra Pradesh, where it has already deployed over $25 billion.

A major new investment announced at the event was a 170-acre integrated food park in Kurnool, allocated by APIIC. The high-tech facility will produce packaged foods, beverages, chocolates, snacks, water and flour, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs.

Reliance also plans to set up compressed biogas (CBG) hubs to support natural farming and rural livelihoods. Its first plant in Prakasam district broke ground earlier this year.

State Government Welcomes Big-Ticket Commitments

Chief Minister Naidu called the investments a turning point in the state’s technology-driven transformation.
“Reliance’s projects align with our vision to make Andhra Pradesh a global centre for AI, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing,” he said.

P M S Prasad added that Reliance aims not just to invest, but to “build, empower, and serve,” shaping a cleaner and more prosperous future for the state.
