Deepinder Goyal Pledges $25 Million to Advance Human Ageing Research

0

Bengaluru-based Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal has announced a $25 million self-funded initiative to support Continue Research, a global project dedicated to understanding human ageing and biology. Launched two years ago, Continue Research functions both as a research team and a seed fund, providing resources to scientists exploring unconventional ideas in biology and longevity.

The initiative is designed to investigate the upstream mechanisms of ageing, moving beyond conventional approaches to focus on fundamental processes that govern human biology. Goyal emphasizes a systems-based perspective, suggesting that biological systems may be simpler than traditionally understood. By adopting this methodology, the project aims to identify interventions that can extend healthy human function and improve long-term quality of life.

Continue Research collaborates with leading scientists globally, enabling them to explore high-risk, high-reward concepts that might not fit within traditional grant frameworks. Goyal highlighted that the initiative operates with a dual approach: supporting experimental research in the lab while also funding seed-stage projects that have the potential to translate into practical applications.

A key focus of the project is to help humans maintain optimal physical and cognitive function over extended periods, allowing individuals to make informed long-term decisions rather than being constrained by age-related decline. The organization also works on developing models and tools that can accelerate biological discovery, bridging the gap between theoretical research and real-world impact.

Goyal has hinted that a significant research hypothesis is nearing completion, which could potentially redefine aspects of human biology and longevity. By committing personal capital to Continue Research, he aims to foster innovation in the life sciences space and support breakthroughs that may fundamentally change our understanding of ageing.

This initiative positions Deepinder Goyal not only as a tech entrepreneur but also as a visionary investor in longevity science, advancing the frontier of human health through bold, self-funded research.
