Neha Markanda Joins ShareChat as Chief Business Officer

Bengaluru, August 18, 2025 – ShareChat, India’s leading social media platform, has appointed Neha Markanda as its Chief Business Officer (CBO) for both ShareChat and Moj platforms. Markanda steps into the role previously held by Gaurav Jain, who departed the company in June.

A Seasoned Leader with Diverse Experience

With over 22 years of experience, Markanda brings a wealth of expertise from her tenure at Google India, where she served as Head of Industry, E-commerce. In this capacity, she led strategy across multiple verticals, delivering consistent market growth. Additionally, she spearheaded Google India’s health strategy and played a pivotal role in driving business transformation and AI-led solutions in both retail and health tech sectors.

Prior to her time at Google, Markanda held senior roles at Meta (formerly Facebook), GSK Consumer Healthcare, PepsiCo, ITC Limited, and HCL Technologies. Her diverse background spans both consumer products and technology, equipping her with a unique perspective on brand building, marketing, and business growth.

Strategic Vision for ShareChat

In her new role, Markanda will lead ShareChat’s revenue strategy, accelerate business growth, and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders across India. Co-founder and CEO Ankush Sachdeva expressed confidence in Markanda’s ability to enhance the company’s offerings and support the business growth ambitions of its partners.

Markanda’s appointment comes at a time when ShareChat is experiencing significant growth, with a 29.9% increase in operational revenue to ₹718.1 crore in FY24, compared to ₹552.73 crore in FY23. The company also reduced its losses by 41.4% during the same period.
