Pune-based integrated facility management firm CLR Facility Services has secured $15 million (~₹125 crore) in fresh funding from British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance institution and impact investor.
This strategic investment aims to bolster CLR’s pan-India expansion, enhance vocational training, and reinforce its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives while creating more inclusive employment opportunities.
Fueling Expansion & Workforce Growth
CLR will use the capital to:
- Expand integrated facility management services across India
- Double its workforce from 20,000 to 50,000 blue-collar employees over the next 5–7 years
- Open vocational training centers in tier-II cities
- Focus on hiring from underserved communities, with special emphasis on women employment
“This investment will empower us to create more opportunities for our workforce, drive innovation in facility management, and extend our impact across new markets,” said Gaurav Pathak and Gautam Pathak, promoters and directors of CLR Facility Services.
About CLR Facility Services
Founded in Pune, CLR Facility Services provides a suite of integrated facility management (IFM) offerings to large corporates, including:
- Cleaning and sanitation
- Engineering and mechanical maintenance
- Production support services
The company currently operates in nine states and services a roster of over 160 clients across sectors.
What sets CLR apart is its structured skilling and employment model. The firm boasts a 25% women workforce, a figure it plans to expand significantly. Its employment model focuses on upskilling semi-skilled and unskilled workers, enabling social mobility at scale
Social Impact and ESG Commitment
BII’s investment aligns with its broader strategy to support inclusive and sustainable businesses in emerging markets. CLR’s focus on:
- Skilling underrepresented communities
- Boosting women’s participation
- Building vocational infrastructure in smaller cities
- Uplifting the blue-collar ecosystem
makes it an ideal fit for impact-focused capital.
Market Landscape & Competition
CLR competes with other established facility management firms such as:
- BVG India
- UDS
- ISS Facility Services
However, CLR’s community-first approach, skilling initiatives, and pan-India ambitions distinguish it as a next-generation impact-driven enterprise in this sector.
Previous Backing & Growth Outlook
This round follows CLR’s first institutional backing from First Bridge Investment Managers in 2018. The new capital and support from BII are expected to accelerate CLR’s mission of building an inclusive workforce, while also enhancing operational capacity across new geographies.
