ANVKA Foundation, the CSR arm of Aakash Healthcare, has launched Azure Innovation Labs, a MedTech accelerator programme aimed at boosting healthcare innovation in India. Positioned as North India’s first hospital-based medtech incubator, the initiative seeks to support startups and entrepreneurs building solutions in healthcare technology.
The programme is being executed in collaboration with Innoscale Global Foundation as the execution partner, while Aakash Healthcare Super Speciality Hospital serves as the healthcare partner, providing real-world clinical infrastructure for validation and testing.
Bridging Innovation with Clinical Validation
The core objective of Azure Innovation Labs is to bridge the gap between healthcare innovation and real-world implementation. By embedding the incubator within a hospital environment, startups gain access to clinical validation, industry insights, and patient-centric testing, accelerating the journey from idea to deployment.
Dr. Aashish Chaudhry, Managing Director, Aakash Healthcare and Founder, ANVKA Foundation, stated that the initiative aims to create an ecosystem where innovations are not just developed but also validated and implemented effectively. He emphasised the importance of providing the right environment for early-stage ideas to scale.
Ecosystem Support from Policy and Industry Leaders
Highlighting the broader impact, Prateek Deshmukh from Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, noted that such sector-focused programmes help create a complete innovation pipeline—from ideation to execution—while addressing industry and research gaps.
Dr. Shishir, Trustee, Innoscale Global Foundation, added that the initiative is designed to support startups in scaling innovations from concept to market-ready solutions, strengthening the overall healthcare startup ecosystem.
Strengthening India’s Healthcare Innovation Landscape
Azure Innovation Labs will offer startups access to mentorship, infrastructure, and acceleration support, enabling them to build and scale impactful healthcare solutions.
Deepak Singhal, CEO, ANVKA Foundation, described the launch as a step toward building a more collaborative and innovation-driven healthcare ecosystem in India.
The launch event witnessed participation from 20+ startups, with six startups presenting their innovations, signalling strong early interest.
With this initiative, ANVKA Foundation aims to position India as a hub for healthcare innovation, combining technology, clinical expertise, and startup agility to drive the next wave of medtech advancements.
