Payments firm Cashfree Payments has appointed Sameer Gandhi as its Chief Financial Officer. Based in Bengaluru, Gandhi will oversee the company’s financial strategy, revenue planning, and operational efficiency as it enters its next phase of growth.
Gandhi brings extensive experience from his previous role as Head of Finance at Visa India, along with leadership stints at companies such as Vodafone.
Strengthening Financial Discipline Amid Growth Push
Commenting on the appointment, CEO and co-founder Akash Sinha said Gandhi’s experience in large institutions will be critical as the company focuses on sustainable growth and moves toward profitability.
Cashfree currently holds multiple licences from the Reserve Bank of India, including payment aggregator (PA-PG), cross-border (PA-CB), and prepaid payment instrument (PPI) approvals, positioning it as a full-stack payments player.
Scaling Cross-Border Payments and Transaction Volume
The company processes over $80 billion in transactions annually and serves more than one million businesses, ranging from startups to large enterprises.
Cashfree has also raised $53 million in funding led by Krafton and Apis Partners, reflecting continued investor confidence.
Co-founder Reeju Datta had earlier highlighted the company’s focus on expanding its cross-border payments business, a segment that requires distinct operational capabilities compared to domestic payments.
The leadership addition comes as Cashfree strengthens its financial foundation to support scale and innovation in India’s evolving fintech ecosystem.
