Whiteboard Capital and Brigade REAP back fresh beverage retail startup
Beverage retail brand Basil Health has raised $1.5 million (approximately Rs 12.5 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round from Whiteboard Capital, Brigade REAP, and consumer-focused Barbershop Fund. The round also saw participation from angel investors including Deep Bajaj, Siddharth Kothari, and others. The funding will support the company’s expansion as it builds a technology-led fresh beverage retail network across India.
Capital to expand distribution, supply chain and brand presence
The fresh funds will be used to expand Basil Health’s footprint across multiple cities, strengthen its supply chain infrastructure, and invest in brand building and team growth. The company plans to accelerate distribution through a mix of compact kiosks and automated beverage machines designed for high-footfall locations.
Founders building automated fresh beverage retail infrastructure
Co-founded in 2023 by Harshita Kejriwal, Akshay Chaudhari, and Karan Dwivedi, Basil Health is building a clean beverage retail brand focused on delivering fresh, café-quality drinks through automation-led infrastructure. The Delhi-based startup operates compact kiosks and proprietary automated beverage machines designed to produce standardized beverages at scale.
Scaling IoT-powered beverage technology across high-traffic locations
Basil Health’s IoT-enabled systems blend fresh ingredients directly into the cup, allowing real-time monitoring and operational control while ensuring consistent product quality. The company currently operates more than 70 kiosks and automated machines across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Chandigarh. Its retail model combines 50 sq. ft. kiosks with compact 8 sq. ft. plug-and-play machines that can be deployed in offices, hospitals, universities, and malls. The startup aims to scale to 1,000 touchpoints over the next three years.
