VerSe Innovation has appointed Prasanna Prasad as Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), as the company sharpens its focus on AI-led growth across its platforms.
In his new role, Prasad will lead engineering, product, and data science functions, driving innovation across VerSe’s ecosystem, including Dailyhunt, Josh, and other products.
Driving AI-Led Product Innovation and Monetisation
Prasad joins from Verve Group, where he served as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Product and AI. With over two decades of experience, he brings expertise in building cloud-native systems, large-scale platforms, and AI-driven products.
At VerSe, he will focus on enhancing AI capabilities across content personalisation, creator ecosystems, and advertising technology, aiming to improve user engagement and monetisation across its platforms.
Growth Momentum and Path to Profitability
VerSe operates an AI-powered local language content platform serving over 350 million users. Its portfolio also includes NexVerse.ai, Dailyhunt Premium, and VerSe Collab, expanding its presence across AI-driven content and creator tools.
Financially, the company reported a sharp rise in operating revenue to ₹1,930 crore in FY25 from ₹1,029 crore in FY24. It is targeting breakeven and group-level profitability in the second half of FY25.
Backed by investors such as CPP Investments, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Qatar Investment Authority, Carlyle Group, Goldman Sachs, and Peak XV Partners, VerSe has raised over $1.5 billion and was last valued at $5 billion.
