Hospitality and managed accommodation startup Tribe Stays has raised $2.8 million (₹24 crore) in a seed round co-led by Artha Venture Fund and Riverwalk Holdings, marking one of the largest early-stage cheques in India’s premium long-stay living segment. The round also saw participation from Kunal Khanna, Krishna Jain, and multiple HNIs and family offices.
Capital to Power Expansion Across Three Sub-Brands
The fresh funds will support the expansion of Tribe Stays’ portfolio under its three sub-brands — Tribe Student Accommodation, Tribe Commune, and Tribe Suites. The company currently operates 650 beds in Pune and plans to add 1,000 new beds this financial year. Over the next phase, Tribe aims to scale aggressively to 25,000 beds across key tier I and tier II cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Gurugram, and Pune.
Premium Long-Stay Model Gains Traction
Founded by Yogesh Mehra, Tribe Stays focuses on premium, fully managed living spaces for students, working professionals, corporates, and executive guests. Positioned in the high-quality, zero-compromise long-stay category, the company offers a combination of hospitality-grade design, curated communities, and end-to-end services differentiating itself from traditional PGs and hostel operators.
Partnership-Driven Growth Strategy
Tribe’s next phase of expansion includes deeper collaboration with universities, corporates, and relocation-intensive employers. The company plans to build accommodation models that integrate learning, corporate mobility, and long-term stays, aimed at institutions and businesses seeking reliable, high-quality housing solutions at scale.
Market Context
India’s managed accommodation market is evolving rapidly as both students and professionals move towards branded, secure, service-led long-stay options. With rising demand for hybrid-living models and professionalised housing operators, Tribe’s early entry and premium positioning give it a competitive edge as the category consolidates further.
Final Take
Tribe Stays’ ₹24 crore seed round highlights investor confidence in the premium long-stay accommodation market. With scale ambitions and a differentiated brand-led model, the company is positioning itself to become a category-defining player in India’s evolving hospitality-living ecosystem.
