Sukino Raises $31 Mn in Series B to Expand Rehab Care Network

Post-acute and rehabilitative healthcare chain Sukino has raised $31 million in a Series B funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Rainmatter.

Expansion across new markets

The company said the fresh capital will be used to expand its footprint into new geographies, as demand rises for structured recovery care outside traditional hospital settings. Sukino plans to significantly scale its bed capacity and centre network over the next two years.

Focus on post-acute and rehabilitation care

Founded in 2016 by Rajinish Menon and Shalini Menon, Sukino operates in the post-acute and rehabilitative care segment, addressing a critical gap between hospital discharge and full recovery. The company primarily serves stroke patients, while also supporting rehabilitation for neurological, orthopaedic, and oncology conditions.

Growing network and profitability

Sukino currently operates over 850 beds across 11 centres in Bengaluru, Kochi, and Coimbatore. The company said it is profitable at a group level and added five new centres in the past year, during which it reported 64% year-on-year growth. It plans to launch 22 additional centres over the next two years.

Structural tailwinds

The expansion is being driven by two key shifts in India’s healthcare landscape. Insurance providers are increasingly covering 60–90 days of rehabilitation care, while families are showing greater acceptance of institutional recovery facilities as an alternative to extended hospital stays or home-based care.

With rising awareness around recovery outcomes, Sukino is positioning itself as a scaled platform for specialised rehabilitation in India’s evolving healthcare system.
