Fabless semiconductor startup Sophrosyne Technologies has raised $2 million in a seed round led by Bluehill.VC, strengthening its efforts to build next-generation biosensing silicon for the global wearable and digital-health market. The company also recently cleared technical diligence to secure a MeitY DLI grant of $1.2 million, further validating its deep-tech roadmap.
Capital to Accelerate Silicon Development and OEM Engagement
The funding will support Sophrosyne’s transition from prototype silicon to full-scale development, enabling the startup to expand its silicon-design, firmware, and engineering teams. The company will also begin early deployments with Indian and international device makers while scaling engagements with global OEMs.
Co-founded in 2022 by Manish Srivastava and Jatin Gupta, Sophrosyne Technologies is building an integrated biosensing System-on-Chip (SoC) that combines analog signal acquisition, ultra-low-power design, power management and software support — a combination aimed at transforming next-generation wearable devices.
A Multi-Vital, Energy-Efficient Biosensing Architecture
Sophrosyne’s unified SoC is designed to measure ECG, PPG, respiration, temperature and related biometrics with high accuracy and extremely low energy consumption. By consolidating multiple sensing functions into a single architecture, the startup enables device manufacturers to deliver richer, continuous and clinically relevant health insights with a much smaller silicon footprint.
“Having a deep-tech investor like Bluehill.VC, backed by leaders such as Vinod Dham, Manu Iyer and Sridhar Parthasarathi, gives us access to world-class semiconductor guidance,” said Manish Srivastava, co-founder and CEO. “Beyond capital, Bluehill brings discipline, clarity and the ability to help us scale globally.”
Deep-Tech Backing for India’s Semiconductor Ambition
Bluehill.VC, a Rs 350 crore deep-tech venture fund, invests in IP-led companies across semiconductors, energy, EVs, aerospace, defence, manufacturing and industrial IoT. Its backing signals strong investor confidence in India’s emerging semiconductor ecosystem.
Final Take
Sophrosyne Technologies is positioning itself as a critical silicon provider for the next wave of health wearables, combining advanced biosensing with energy-efficient design to serve global OEM needs.
