Premier Energies, one of India’s leading renewable energy manufacturers, has announced its entry into the solar inverter segment with the acquisition of 100% stake in KSolare Energy for Rs 170 crore, marking a major expansion in its clean energy portfolio.
The deal, executed through a joint venture with Syrma SGS Technology in a 51:49 ownership structure, strengthens Premier Energies’ position across the solar value chain. The acquisition comes just a day after the company announced its entry into transformer manufacturing by acquiring a 51% stake in Transcon Industries for Rs 500.3 crore.
KSolare Energy, based in Pune, operates a manufacturing facility with a capacity of 500,000 inverters annually. The company designs and produces on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid inverters, catering primarily to India’s residential rooftop solar market. Under the new partnership, Premier Energies and Syrma SGS plan to set up a new brownfield plant in Pune, targeting an expanded capacity of one million inverters per year.
Premier Energies’ Managing Director and CEO, Chiranjeev Saluja, said the move aligns with India’s growing focus on rooftop solar adoption. “Together with Syrma SGS, we aim to make high-quality, made-in-India inverters accessible to every rooftop installation under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana initiative,” Saluja stated.
The expansion underscores Premier Energies’ strategy to evolve into a fully integrated clean energy company, covering the entire ecosystem — from solar cells and modules to transformers, battery storage, and inverters. The firm aims to reach a 10 GW integrated capacity across ingots, wafers, cells, and modules in the near term.
With this acquisition, Premier Energies is positioning itself as a key player in India’s solar infrastructure ecosystem, accelerating the nation’s transition toward sustainable energy independence.
