Board Addition Strengthens Governance as Healthtech Platform Expands
Digital healthcare platform Practo has appointed former Union Health Secretary C.K. Mishra as an independent director on its board. The appointment adds senior policy and governance experience to the company as it continues expanding its integrated healthcare technology platform.
Mishra is a 1983-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer with nearly 37 years of public service experience. During his tenure as Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, he oversaw several large national healthcare programmes and managed complex public health systems across the country.
Governance Strengthening Amid Healthcare Platform Expansion
According to Practo, Mishra’s experience in building and governing large-scale infrastructure will support the company’s efforts to expand its healthcare ecosystem and strengthen institutional governance.
He joins a board that has recently added industry leaders including TVG Krishnamurthy and Alexander Kuruvilla. The company said these additions are intended to enhance governance standards and strengthen the long-term resilience of its technology-driven healthcare platform.
Commenting on the development, Mishra said that Practo has built a neutral, technology-driven ecosystem connecting patients, healthcare providers, and payors, and he looks forward to contributing to its next phase of growth.
Practo’s Global Digital Healthcare Network
Founded in 2008 by Shashank ND, Practo connects users with more than 700,000 doctors and healthcare providers through its platform. The company also operates Insta, a hospital information management system used by over 500 clients across more than 1,200 healthcare facilities globally.
The board appointment reflects Practo’s focus on strengthening leadership and governance as it scales its global healthtech infrastructure.
