Ola’s AI arm Krutrim has taken its consumer facing assistant Kruti AI offline, with the service currently inaccessible across both web and mobile platforms, according to multiple reports.
The Kruti app has been removed from app stores, while its web interface is also non-functional. Users visiting the website are shown a message stating: “We’ll be back soon. Kruti AI is currently under maintenance,” indicating a service disruption.
The assistant also appears to be non-operational within Ola’s ecosystem.
Launched in 2025, Kruti was built on Krutrim’s in-house model Krutrim V2, a 12-billion parameter AI model, and was designed to handle tasks such as cab bookings, bill payments, and food orders.
So far, neither Ola nor Krutrim has issued an official statement regarding the outage.
According to reports, development of Krutrim’s next model, Krutrim 3, has also stalled, raising concerns about delays in its AI roadmap.
The outage comes amid broader challenges at Krutrim, including leadership churn and execution issues, along with over 150 layoffs carried out in two phases last year.
The situation reflects wider pressure across Ola’s businesses, including its ride hailing operations and Ola Electric, which has seen a decline in market share and valuation.
For founder Bhavish Aggarwal, the simultaneous challenges across multiple ventures raise questions around execution, focus, and long-term sustainability.
