Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Urges Employees to “Use AI Everywhere” Despite Job Concerns

0

Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang has made his stance on workplace AI adoption unmistakably clear: employees should use AI as much as possible and not fear losing their jobs because of it. His remarks, first reported by Business Insider, came a day after Nvidia posted another quarter of record earnings.

“Are You Insane?” Huang Rejects Calls to Limit AI Use

Responding to a concern that some Nvidia managers were asking teams to limit AI usage, Huang said he disagreed entirely. “Are you insane?” he reportedly asked, emphasizing that every task AI can handle should be automated. He added that employees would continue to have substantial work, even as AI takes over repetitive tasks.

Nvidia Expands Workforce as Other Tech Firms Cut Jobs

While major tech companies including Apple, HP and others are undergoing layoffs and restructuring, Nvidia is expanding aggressively. The company added several thousand employees last quarter alone so many that Huang joked it had created “parking problems.” Nvidia now employs 36,000 people, up from 29,600 at the end of FY24, and continues hiring across engineering and operations.

Huang said the company remains nearly 10,000 employees short of its ideal workforce size, though hiring must progress at a pace that allows proper training and integration.

AI As a Daily Work Expectation

Huang revealed that Nvidia engineers already rely on AI coding tools such as Cursor, and encouraged teams to “use it until it works” if current AI tools fall short. His comments align with the wider industry shift: Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and Google have all mandated internal AI adoption, with some firms tying AI usage to employee performance reviews.

Final Take

As AI reshapes global workforces, Nvidia’s aggressive pro-AI stance signals its belief that human talent and AI systems will evolve together not compete.
