Bessemer Venture Partners backs AI planning engine for construction industry

Pre-construction AI platform MeltPlan has raised $10 million (approximately Rs 83 crore) in a seed funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from noa. The latest round brings the startup’s total funding to $14 million. The investment reflects growing demand for AI systems that can improve efficiency and decision-making in the global construction industry, which continues to face delays, cost overruns, and planning inefficiencies.

Capital to develop AI-powered planning engine and expand product capabilities

The fresh funds will be used to build MeltPlan’s core “planning engine,” designed to optimise key construction decisions across compliance, cost, scheduling, and value analysis. The company plans to accelerate product development and strengthen its AI-driven decision systems to help developers, architects, and contractors make better planning choices before project execution begins. The platform aims to reduce costly revisions, delays, and change orders by addressing constraints early in the construction lifecycle.

Founders building construction-native AI trained on codes and materials

Co-founded in 2025 by Kanav Hasija and Tanmaya Kala, MeltPlan is developing a construction-native AI system capable of understanding building codes, material requirements, sequencing, procurement workflows, and engineering trade-offs. The platform has already achieved over 95 percent accuracy in building inspector exam benchmarks and is expanding its expertise across multiple construction disciplines to improve planning intelligence and automation.

Partnering with enterprise contractors to transform construction planning

MeltPlan is building integrated systems covering compliance, cost estimation, scheduling optimisation, and value analysis to align stakeholders before construction begins. The company is currently working with enterprise contractors such as DPR Construction in California and Innovo Group in the UAE to support pre-construction planning. By introducing AI at the planning stage, MeltPlan aims to reduce inefficiencies, improve project predictability, and enable faster, more cost-effective construction outcomes.
