How AI Is Powering Student Innovation
Indian students are increasingly turning to Google Gemini as a creative and problem-solving partner, using AI to build real-world solutions for everyday campus challenges. A recent Google–Kantar study found that 95% of Gemini student users in India reported increased confidence, leveraging the tool for academic support, ideation, and early career preparation.
Fund My Crazy: Campus Problems, AI-Driven Solutions
This confidence was on full display during Fund My Crazy (FMC), a campus innovation campaign that encouraged students to solve practical campus problems using Gemini. In just nine days, the program received over 29,000 submissions, with students using Gemini to architect tech stacks, pressure-test assumptions, visualize solutions, and refine product ideas.

Winner Spotlight: Feko Pay
Hardik Sachan, a student from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, Delhi, addressed the everyday hassle of splitting café bills. His chat-first app, Feko Pay, uses AI-powered photo scanning to itemize bills and simplify group payments. Hardik credited Gemini for helping refine his product vision and build high-fidelity mock-ups for his pitch.
Winner Spotlight: Swappr
At Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, Garvit Dudeja identified unused value in dorm rooms—from guitars to textbooks. His platform, Swappr, enables students to barter items through a gamified, swipe-based interface. Garvit used Gemini to structure his thinking and design a scalable solution.
Winner Spotlight: Rest In Pieces
Bhavana L from Sona College of Technology, Salem, focused on reducing campus e-waste. Her idea, Rest In Pieces, transforms discarded senior projects into affordable resources by automatically identifying reusable hardware components. Gemini supported her research and presentation development throughout the process.
Beyond the Winners: Top 10 Finalists
Gemini also played a critical role for other top finalists. Students used it to design 24/7 printout machines, predict canteen food wastage, build student travel networks, simplify digital out-pass systems, visualize robotics concepts, and synthesize research into usable prototypes.
AI as a Thinking Partner for the Next Generation
From ideation to execution, Gemini emerged as more than a tool—it became a thinking partner for students navigating complexity. These projects highlight how AI is enabling India’s next generation to move from curiosity to creation, solving real problems while building confidence, clarity, and capability.
