Largest Funding Deal Ever Announced on Indian Television
Legal-tech startup Lawyered has raised ₹8.5 crore on business reality show IdeaBaaz, marking the largest funding announcement ever made on Indian television. The investment was closed at a ₹120 crore pre-money valuation and brought together a consortium of prominent investors including Pawan Jaggi, VC investor Sandesh Sharda, The Sleep Company co-founder Priyanka Salot, and Arjun Vaidya.
Capital Deployment and Growth Plans
According to the company, the fresh capital will be used to drive product innovation, strengthen its technology infrastructure, expand nationwide distribution, and build brand visibility. Lawyered is also focused on scaling its core mobility-led legal products while preparing the platform for multi-sector expansion.
Building Proactive Legal Infrastructure
Founded in 2018 by Himanshu Gupta, Lawyered provides tech-driven, proactive legal assistance across India. The startup initially focused on the mobility ecosystem with platforms such as LOTS247, India’s roadside legal assistance service, and ChallanPay, a traffic challan discovery and resolution platform. Over time, it has evolved into an AI-enabled legal infrastructure provider for individuals, startups, and businesses.
Traction and Scale
Lawyered claims to have supported over 600,000 vehicles and 800 businesses, resolved more than 200,000 legal matters, and helped customers save over ₹50 crore in penalties and downtime. The platform is backed by a network of 70,000+ lawyers operating across India.
Founder’s Perspective
Calling the round a milestone, Founder and CEO Himanshu Gupta said the all-investor deal validates Lawyered’s mission to make legal access seamless and preventive. The company plans to deepen adoption of LOTS247 and ChallanPay while expanding into finance, real estate, healthcare, and other regulated sectors.
Final Take
With strong validation on a national platform and a focus on mobility-first legal infrastructure, Lawyered is positioning itself to become a core compliance and legal backbone for India’s next phase of digital growth.
