Civic-tech startup Jaagruk Bharat has raised Rs 1.5 crore in a pre-seed round led by AJVC, the early-stage venture capital firm founded by Aviral Bhatnagar.
The funding will be used to strengthen product development, expand partnerships with state and central government bodies, and enhance accessibility features across multiple platforms. The company also aims to scale its reach among marginalized communities and improve system interoperability for faster and more reliable access to public benefits.
Founded by Akshit and Abhishek Goel, Jaagruk Bharat is building a citizen-first ecosystem to help Indians easily discover, apply for, and track government welfare schemes. Its multilingual interface ensures inclusivity, allowing users from different linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds to engage with digital governance seamlessly.
Through a blend of automation, vernacular support, and intuitive design, the platform simplifies complex government processes into actionable steps. Users can navigate welfare programs, verify eligibility, and receive real-time updates bringing transparency and accountability to the forefront of citizen–government interactions.
“With Jaagruk Bharat, we want to make governance truly accessible not just for the digitally aware, but for every Indian who deserves clarity and support in accessing their rights,” said Akshit Goel, co-founder.
AJVC, which recently closed its Rs 200 crore maiden fund, continues to invest in high-potential Indian startups across technology, consumer, and impact sectors. Its portfolio includes GaadiMech.com, Nuyug, and Mithila Foods, among others.
With this funding, Jaagruk Bharat is positioned to redefine how citizens interact with the government — moving from paperwork and confusion to transparency, efficiency, and empowerment.
