August 2025 — Born in the modest town of Ambajogai, Maharashtra, Anand Mahurkar’s journey from a professor’s son to the founder of a globally acclaimed AI company is a masterclass in grit and vision.
A national scholarship opened the doors for him to study mechanical engineering for just ₹250 a year. His first role as a project engineer at Bharat Forge exposed him to German engineers working on robotics. With no formal training, Anand taught himself coding after hours. This skill became his ticket to Videocon’s automation unit, and later, the Y2K-era boom at Kale Consultants, where he mastered C++ and Informix. By the time he reached Datamatics, he was President, leading global teams and moving to the U.S.
The turning point came in a meeting with a major bank client. Anand noticed their core problem wasn’t just data storage it was the inability to find relevant information. That insight became the seed for Findability Sciences, which he founded in 2011. Bootstrapped during the post-2008 downturn, Anand personally built the company’s first platform, grounded in his belief:
“Maths is the oxygen; coding is just plumbing.”
Findability Sciences soon made its mark delivering AI solutions that blend academic rigor with real-world datasets, from satellite imagery to sales forecasting. Landmark projects include demand-forecast models for the world’s largest HVAC manufacturer and agricultural yield optimization that generated millions in additional profits.
