In a meaningful step toward inclusive entrepreneurship, Flipkart, the Walmart-owned e-commerce giant, recently collaborated with WE Hub, a Government of Telangana initiative, to conduct a capacity-building workshop aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs through the power of e-commerce.

Held in Hyderabad, the workshop attracted enthusiastic participation from women-led businesses and MSMEs, highlighting the growing need for structured support and market access for women in business.

Workshop Highlights: Tools for Scaling Women-led Businesses

The orientation session, jointly organized by Flipkart and WE Hub, was designed to enhance the digital and e-commerce readiness of women entrepreneurs. Key areas of focus included:

  • Product Listing Best Practices
  • Pricing and Competitive Strategy
  • E-commerce Platform Navigation
  • National Market Access Enablement

These insights are expected to help women entrepreneurs transition from localized markets to a nationwide digital marketplace, thereby unlocking greater growth opportunities.

Strategic Commentary from Flipkart Leadership

Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of the Flipkart Group, shared the company’s vision behind the partnership:

“At Flipkart Group, we believe in the power of inclusive entrepreneurship and the role technology can play in amplifying it. This belief is the foundation of our partnership with WE Hub, which gives women entrepreneurs access to digital marketplaces and knowledge resources to help them realize their full potential.”

He further emphasized the practical value of the workshop:

“Our goal is to create an ecosystem that gives business owners—particularly MSMEs, women, and rural entrepreneurs—the tools they need to succeed in the e-commerce industry.”

WE Hub and Flipkart Samarth: Building Entrepreneurial Capacity

Flipkart’s Samarth Program, launched in 2019, serves as a foundation for such partnerships. It supports MSMEs, artisans, and underserved communities by providing a pan-India e-commerce platform, training resources, and market linkages.

Over the years, Flipkart Samarth has grown through partnerships with State and Central Ministries, Government departments, and nonprofit organizations, further scaling its impact across India.
