General Catalyst leads funding to advance electronic warfare capabilities
Hyderabad-based defence technology startup Constelli has raised $20 million (approximately Rs 180 crore) in a funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from 360 One Asset Management and existing investor Pravega Ventures. The company had earlier secured $3 million in a pre-Series A round in January last year led by Pravega Ventures. The fresh investment comes amid rising defence spending and growing focus on indigenous aerospace and electronic warfare capabilities.
Capital to strengthen next-generation electronic warfare and payload systems
The proceeds will be deployed toward product research and development focused on next-generation electronic warfare and communication payloads across drones, ground systems, naval platforms, and satellites. Constelli also plans to set up infrastructure for rapid prototyping and early-stage production to accelerate deployment of field-ready defence systems.
Founders building advanced signal processing solutions for global defence clients
Co-founded in 2017 by Satya Gopal Panigrahi and Avinash Chenreddy, Constelli develops advanced signal processing tools that enhance the design, testing, and development of aerospace and defence systems. The company leverages hardware-software integration, modelling and simulation, and distributed computing to shorten payload development cycles while increasing technical sophistication.
Expanding footprint amid rising defence allocations and global demand
Constelli’s products are used by organisations developing radar and electronic warfare systems globally. It serves India’s Ministry of Defence, DRDO, and defence contractors in South Korea, Australia, and Singapore. The Union Budget has allocated Rs 7.84 lakh crore to the defence ministry for 2026–27, up from Rs 6.81 lakh crore this year, signalling strong sector momentum. With backing from General Catalyst, which has committed $5 billion to India over five years, Constelli aims to scale indigenous defence innovation and expand its global presence.
