Articulus Surgical Raises Funding From Kalaari To Expand Surgical Robotics

0

Medical robotics startup Articulus Surgical has raised funding from Kalaari Capital for an undisclosed amount. The investment is aimed at accelerating commercial deployments and strengthening the company’s hospital and surgeon ecosystem.

Funding To Support Market Deployment And Training Infrastructure

The fresh capital will be used to accelerate market deployments, expand surgeon training programmes, and strengthen partnerships with hospitals over the next 12 to 18 months. The startup plans to focus on increasing adoption of robotic-assisted surgical systems across healthcare institutions in India.

Building Robotics For Minimally Invasive Soft-Tissue Surgeries

Founded in 2019 by Saurya Mishra, Articulus Surgical develops robotic systems designed for minimally invasive soft-tissue surgeries. The company operates in a segment where robotic surgery adoption remains relatively low in India, particularly in high-volume abdominal and related surgical procedures.

Articulus focuses on building robotics solutions aimed at improving surgical precision, reducing patient recovery time, and enhancing overall clinical outcomes. The company’s technology is designed to support surgeons in performing complex procedures with improved control and efficiency.

Competing In The Global Surgical Robotics Ecosystem

As Articulus Surgical scales commercial deployments, it competes with established global surgical robotics platforms such as Intuitive Surgical’s da Vinci system, CMR Surgical, and other emerging surgical automation technologies. With growing demand for minimally invasive procedures, the company aims to strengthen domestic surgical robotics capabilities while expanding adoption across healthcare networks.
