Armatrix, a deep tech robotics startup, has raised $2.1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by pi Ventures, with participation from Inuka Capital, Boundless Ventures, Boost VC, Turbostart, and returning investor gradCapital. The fresh capital will be used to complete development of its proprietary snake-like flexible robotic arm, expand its engineering and research teams, and accelerate pilot deployments with industrial customers. The funding marks an important milestone as the company moves from prototype validation to real-world industrial adoption.
Building robotic systems for hazardous industrial environments
Co-founded in 2024 by Vishrant Dave, Prateesh Awasthi, and Ayush Ranjan, Armatrix develops snake-like, hyper-redundant robotic manipulators designed to operate in confined and hazardous environments. The Bengaluru-based startup focuses on automating inspection and maintenance operations across industries such as shipbuilding, nuclear energy, oil and gas, and aviation. These sectors often require human workers to enter dangerous spaces such as fuel tanks, reactors, and infrastructure chambers, where safety risks remain high.
Technology designed for precision, flexibility, and safety
Armatrix’s robotic system is built around advanced reachability and actuation capabilities, allowing the arm to navigate complex and confined environments with high precision. The platform features modular end effectors and AI-based navigation systems that enable real-time adaptability during inspection and maintenance tasks. This technology aims to shift industries from reactive maintenance models toward proactive, automated inspection systems that improve safety and reduce operational downtime.
Targeting a rapidly expanding global robotics market
The global robotics maintenance market was valued at $41.66 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach $150 billion by 2032, reflecting growing demand for automation in high-risk industrial environments. Armatrix plans to scale pilot deployments, validate its technology with industrial customers, and position itself as a globally competitive robotics company focused on mission-critical industrial automation.
