Auri Grow India Launches AI-Based Carbon Credit Platform CarbonKrishi

Indore-based agri technology and export-focused firm Auri Grow India Ltd has launched an AI-powered carbon credit platform, CarbonKrishi, targeting large-scale farmer onboarding and participation in global carbon markets.

The company said the platform aims to onboard around 1 lakh farmers, with the potential to generate Rs 16–50 crore worth of carbon credits annually, depending on verification outcomes and prevailing international carbon prices.

CarbonKrishi uses a technology-driven approach that combines AI analytics, satellite imagery, crop and soil data, and structured digital reporting systems to estimate farm-level carbon impact. The platform is designed to quantify emission reductions achieved through sustainable and climate-positive agricultural practices.

In a statement, Auri Grow India said that at an indicative platform commission or participation share of 20–30%, the initiative could generate Rs 3–10 crore in potential annual revenue for the company from carbon credits.

Pratik Kumar Patel, Director at Auri Grow India Ltd, said the platform is aimed at creating additional income opportunities for farmers while building a scalable business model. “Through CarbonKrishi, our objective is to enable farmers to unlock incremental income by adopting sustainable practices, while creating an asset-light and technology-led revenue stream for the company,” he said.

Patel added that by leveraging AI, data analytics, and globally recognised verification frameworks, the company plans to integrate Indian farmers into the global carbon credit ecosystem, which remains largely untapped at the grassroots level.

A carbon credit represents one metric tonne of carbon dioxide emissions removed or avoided and is traded in both compliance and voluntary carbon markets, allowing companies and governments to offset emissions.

India’s carbon neutrality and voluntary carbon market ecosystem is still at an early stage, with startups increasingly driving innovation in this space. Companies such as Climes, Lowsoot, and WOCE have launched new offerings, while established player EKI Energy is focusing on scaling B2B operations alongside selective B2C initiatives.

With CarbonKrishi, Auri Grow India is positioning itself at the intersection of AI, agriculture, and climate finance, betting on growing global demand for verifiable carbon offsets from emerging markets.
