Healthcare automation startup Pype AI has raised $1.2 million in a pre-seed round led by Kalaari Capital, with participation from Wyser Capital and Tenity. The funding will accelerate product development and support the company’s entry into the United States healthcare market, where demand for compliant AI-driven patient communication tools is rising steadily.
AI Agents Built for Healthcare Workflows
Founded in 2024 by Dhruv Mehra and Ashish Tripathy, Pype AI develops voice-based AI front desk agents designed specifically for hospitals, clinics and multi-specialty healthcare providers. The agents automate end-to-end patient communication tasks, including appointment scheduling, follow-ups, pre-treatment preparation, and 24×7 support. Trained on medical conversational datasets, the platform aims to combine operational efficiency with patient-friendly, empathetic interactions.
Building Infrastructure for Safe, Compliant AI
Pype AI has also built Whispey, an open-source observability platform offering 40+ evaluations for safety, performance, compliance and auditability. Through integrations with hospital EMR systems, the platform enables healthcare providers to reduce missed appointments, streamline staff workload, lower communication costs and increase patient retention.
The company claims its AI agents currently automate over 85% of patient queries across multiple Indian healthcare facilities. It is simultaneously integrating with global healthcare systems such as Zocdoc, Epic and Cerner, in preparation for onboarding U.S.-based clinic networks.
Expanding to 50+ Hospitals by Mid-2026
Pype AI plans to partner with more than 50 hospitals and clinic chains by mid-2026, targeting India and the U.S. as its primary markets. The startup is also working with medical professionals to publish research on how AI-driven communication improves patient adherence, reduces administrative delays and enhances continuity of care.
Final Take
Pype AI’s funding highlights growing investor conviction in healthcare-specific AI tools. With its focus on voice automation, compliance infrastructure and global integrations, the company is positioning itself to redefine how hospitals manage patient communication at scale.
