Humble beginnings in rural Rajasthan
In Kuri village, Kaushalya Chaudhary grew up helping with daily chores—studying during mornings, feeding cattle, and cooking for her family at night. Her early love for cooking emerged when she prepared meals to uplift her mother after long days in the fields
Breaking traditional norms
Married just after her Class 12 exams, she found herself bound by household duties and societal expectations. With no formal outlet for her ambitions, Kaushalya resolved: “If I cannot go out, I will build within these four walls”
Digital first step with a basic phone
Inspired by a news story of a five-year-old earning via YouTube, she saved ₹7,500 to buy a Samsung J2S phone in 2017. With that, she began filming recipes like besan barfi and haldi ki sabji, often uploading videos from her rooftop amid poor network coverage
Learning video editing the hard way
Without tutorials or tools, Kaushalya taught herself editing by writing notes from free guides. It took nearly 18 months to earn her first ₹7,500 from YouTube, all while facing resistant family members. Her husband, however, emerged as a pillar of support
Shift to regional language unlocked growth
Initially producing content in Hindi, growth was slow until she switched to Marwari—suggested by her grandmother-in-law. That pivot led to explosive success: 100,000 subscribers within a month and ₹100,000 revenue in ten days
National spotlight on MasterChef India
In 2023, Kaushalya became the only contestant from Rajasthan to reach Top 12 on MasterChef India 2024, showcasing iconic dishes like kachi haldi ki sabji and makhaniya lassi—wins rooted in her cultural authenticity
Founding Sidhi Marwari: pure, traditional, empowering
Concerned about relying solely on social platforms after losing 1.5 million TikTok followers due to its ban, she launched Sidhi Marwari in March 2024. The brand offers cold-pressed oils and hand-ground spices—no preservatives, no artificial colors, and complete adherence to hygiene
Artisanal production with modern outreach
The brand combines traditional methods—motor-powered spice grinding—with modern models such as 15+ outlets across India and global shipping. It also empowers over 35 rural women employees, enabling them to work from home and build financial independence
Consumer endorsement and grassroots impact
Enthusiasts like Deepa Choudhary from Jodhpur praise the authenticity of sidhi marwari’s groundnut oil: “cooking with that oil is almost like cooking your food in butter”
Vision for a women-led micro-business ecosystem
Today, Kaushalya plans to scale the Sidhi Marwari model, inspiring countless rural women to launch micro-businesses rooted in their heritage. Her mantra: “When you decide, no one can stop you.”
