Audio series platform Pocket FM has elevated Lalit Gangwar to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) as the company strengthens its leadership structure to support global expansion.

In his new role, Gangwar will oversee the company’s global audio business, including market expansion, growth, monetisation, and execution.

A founding member of Pocket FM, Gangwar played a key role in building its India growth playbook, helping scale the platform to 150 million users within its first year. He later led the company’s US expansion, setting up teams and driving growth in international markets.

The appointment comes as Pocket FM focuses on building a more structured and scalable operating model, particularly to support growth in overseas markets like the United States.

Gangwar said the company will continue to invest in AI-led storytelling, expand global markets, and strengthen monetisation strategies.

Pocket FM currently claims over 250 million listeners globally and operates a large creator ecosystem with 300,000+ writers and 100,000+ audio series on its platform.

On the financial front, the company reported a 68% increase in revenue to ₹1,768 crore in FY25 and recently crossed an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of ₹4,167 crore, while achieving EBITDA profitability.

In comparison, rival Kuku FM reported ₹242 crore revenue in FY25, nearly tripling year-on-year, though its losses widened to ₹153 crore.
