86 Countries Sign India AI Impact Summit Declaration, Back Global AI Framework

As many as 86 countries and two international organisations have signed the declaration at the India AI Impact Summit, marking broad global support for a coordinated and responsible approach to artificial intelligence development. The declaration was endorsed by major economies including the US, UK, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Egypt, and Indonesia, highlighting growing international alignment on AI governance.

Global Endorsement of Human-Centric and Inclusive AI Principles

Ashwini Vaishnaw, India’s Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, said the declaration reflects global acceptance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s human-centric AI vision. He emphasised that democratising AI access and ensuring its benefits reach all sections of society have been widely supported by participating nations.

Vaishnaw added that safety, trust, and social harmony were key priorities in the framework, with countries agreeing to balance economic growth with societal well-being while building secure and trustworthy AI systems.

Summit Secures $250 Billion in Infrastructure and Investment Commitments

The India AI Impact Summit also secured investment commitments exceeding $250 billion in AI infrastructure, along with around $20 billion in venture capital and deep-tech investments. The event attracted participation from global technology leaders including Sundar Pichai, Sam Altman, and Brad Smith, alongside policymakers, startups, and industry experts.

With over five lakh visitors and participation from leading global AI companies, the summit positioned India as a central player in shaping global AI governance and infrastructure development.
