Ola Electric is preparing to recruit around 1,000 senior service technicians and specialised professionals as the company moves into the next phase of its Hyperservice programme, according to people familiar with the roadmap. The expansion will significantly strengthen Ola’s after-sales workforce, which currently stands at approximately 2,000 service personnel.
From Firefighting to Structural Capability Building
The hiring follows weeks of rapid-response initiatives deployed to clear service backlogs in major cities. “This is the second, more structural leg of Hyperservice,” a senior company official confirmed. Unlike earlier surge efforts, which were task-force driven, this phase focuses on long-term capacity building to prevent repeat backlogs.
Focus on High-Skill, Decision-Making Roles
Instead of mass frontline hiring, Ola Electric will prioritise expert technicians, diagnostics specialists, centre leaders and customer-facing advisors. Insiders say the goal is to upgrade capability, operational accuracy, and first-contact experience, rather than merely adding manpower. “We are adding capability where decisions actually get made,” one person said.
Scaling Nationwide After Bengaluru Pilot
Hyperservice began earlier this year with backlog clearance and is now shifting toward reinforcing processes, staffing and digital service tools. A successful pilot in Bengaluru has dramatically reduced wait times, prompting Ola to extend the model nationwide.
Digital Tools Ease Service Demand
Ola has also deployed new digital infrastructure including an in-app appointment system and a genuine-parts store integrated into the Ola app and website. Customers can now book service slots and order parts directly, reducing centre pressure and improving turnaround speeds.
Founder Oversight Signals Strategic Priority
Founder Bhavish Aggarwal is personally tracking execution, making unannounced service-centre visits and monitoring Hyperservice performance. Analysts note that such founder-level intervention reflects a strategic priority to rebuild long-term customer trust. With rapid backlog clearance complete and specialist hiring underway, Ola Electric is transitioning Hyperservice into a permanent after-sales operating model.
