Delhi based venture capital firm Udtara Ventures has announced the launch of a ₹250 crore Udtara Growth Fund aimed at scaling defence, aerospace, and deep-tech companies with global ambitions. The newly launched fund will focus on taking meaningful ownership stakes in growth stage startups building patented and commercially deployable technologies.
The fund plans to invest in 8 to 10 companies operating across defence, aerospace, and dual use technology domains. Udtara will target startups that have achieved product market fit (PMF), secured confirmed order books, and are seeking a structured mix of equity and debt capital to scale operations efficiently.
Focus on Scalable, Mission-Critical Technologies
Udtara Growth Fund will prioritize companies developing forward looking technologies with strong intellectual property foundations. The investment thesis centers on supporting businesses transitioning from early commercial validation to large scale deployment and global expansion.
Unlike passive capital pools, the fund positions itself as an active, long-term partner. Udtara Ventures plans to contribute operational expertise across manufacturing readiness, supply chain optimisation, regulatory alignment, and access to global markets.
By leveraging its network of domain specialists, industrial collaborators, and international distribution channels, the firm aims to help portfolio companies move from prototyping to commercial scale, while building globally competitive capabilities rooted in India.
Strategic Push into Defence and Aerospace Innovation
The launch of the ₹250 crore fund reflects rising investor interest in India’s defence and deep-tech ecosystem, driven by policy reforms, domestic manufacturing incentives, and increasing global demand for advanced engineering solutions.
Udtara Ventures intends to build enduring, mission critical companies that combine technological innovation with long-term commercial viability. The fund’s strategy aligns with India’s broader push toward self reliance in defence production and indigenous technology development.
