Uber India Enters B2B Logistics Through ONDC with Launch of Uber Direct

Uber India has taken a major strategic leap beyond ride-hailing by launching Uber Direct, its first B2B logistics service in the country, enabled through a partnership with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

The new service allows ONDC-listed merchants to tap directly into Uber’s large nationwide delivery network. At launch, Uber Direct is fulfilling grocery deliveries for partners such as Zepto and KPN Farm Fresh, with plans to expand into restaurant deliveries, e-commerce shipments, and additional categories across more cities in the coming months.

Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India & South Asia, said the initiative is designed as a “plug-and-play logistics solution”, helping businesses access reliable last-mile delivery without building or managing their own fleet. The move positions Uber firmly in India’s fast-scaling enterprise logistics market, where demand for quick, flexible delivery networks continues to rise.

Uber already operates consumer-facing delivery services such as Uber Courier and Uber Courier X, which the company says have gained strong traction among small businesses and individual users, reaching millions across the country. Uber Direct now extends that capability to enterprise clients seeking predictable, technology-backed logistics at scale.

The ONDC partnership expands Uber’s role within India’s digital commerce ecosystem. Beyond logistics, Uber’s presence on the network also enables features like metro ticket booking on its app, signaling a broader ambition to evolve into a multi-service digital platform.

With ONDC pushing interoperability and open logistics access, Uber’s entry into B2B deliveries strengthens competition in India’s rapidly growing last-mile ecosystem — and marks a significant step in the company’s diversification strategy in one of its largest global markets.
