In an industry often dominated by repetitive gameplay and fleeting entertainment, Pika Game Dev Studio is setting out to redefine what gaming can be. Founded in May 2025 by Kislay Niraj, Pika is driven by the mission to create story-driven, soulful games that leave a lasting impact on players. With a passionate team of 9 members, the studio is poised to reshape India’s gaming culture and bring about a new era of immersive and meaningful gaming.
The Birth of Pika Game Dev Studio
Pika’s journey began with a simple yet profound realisation: India, a country teeming with passionate gamers, lacked high-quality, narrative-driven game studios. Kislay Niraj, inspired by his younger brother Vaibhav Niraj’s love for coding and gaming, saw an opportunity to fill this gap. Together, they envisioned a studio focused not on quick hits or fleeting trends, but on creating games with depth, soul, and lasting appeal.
“India has a vibrant gaming community, but we felt the industry was missing something—games that tell meaningful stories and offer immersive experiences. That’s why we founded Pika,” says Kislay Niraj, founder & CEO of Pika Game Dev Studio.
A Remote Team United by Passion
Pika Game Dev Studio is unique in more ways than one. Unlike traditional game development studios, Pika operates entirely remotely. With team members spread across different cities, the studio has built a collaborative virtual workspace, where they share data, track progress, and work seamlessly toward a common goal. This innovative approach allows the team to overcome the challenges of working from diverse locations and stay connected in their pursuit of creating high-quality games.
“We may not have a physical studio, but our passion and vision keep us united,” says Kislay. “We’ve created an online ‘work desk’ that allows us to track progress, collaborate on ideas, and support each other. Our team’s dedication and belief in our mission is what drives us every day.”
The Pika Team: A Synergy of Talent and Vision
Pika’s strength lies in the diversity and talent of its 9-member team, each bringing a unique skill set and perspective to the table:
Vaibhav Niraj, Rohan, and Ayush Srivastava handle the technical aspects of game development, creating the code that powers each immersive experience.
Shatakshi Sharma, Kritika Kumari, and Harish Rajput manage digital marketing and content creation, ensuring that Pika’s message reaches the right audience.
Aditya and Mukul Pratap Singh bring Pika’s worlds to life through stunning graphics and 3D animations.
Kislay Niraj, as the founder, game designer, and storyteller, leads the creative direction and strategy, guiding the team with his vision for meaningful, story-based games.
Together, this passionate group of professionals is united by a shared goal: to build games that resonate deeply with players, offering experiences that go beyond mere entertainment.
The Vision: Games that Inspire, Relax, and Engage
At the heart of Pika’s mission is the belief that games should be more than just a distraction—they should be a source of relaxation, joy, and inspiration. “Today’s gaming ecosystem often promotes mindless entertainment. We want to bring something different—games that relax the mind, inspire creativity, and leave players with a sense of fulfillment,” says Kislay.
Pika’s goal is not just to create games that people play once and forget, but to build experiences that players will cherish long after they’ve finished the game. With a focus on deep narratives, immersive worlds, and gameplay that promotes calmness and positivity, Pika aims to shift the gaming culture in India towards more soulful, story-driven experiences.
Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Growth
Like many small, indie studios, Pika has faced its share of challenges. Funding and scheduling conflicts due to the remote nature of the team have been persistent hurdles. However, despite these difficulties, the team remain committed to their vision.
“We’re not where we want to be yet, but we are getting closer. 2026 will be a pivotal year for us, and we’re excited to share our first major updates with the world,” Kislay explains. The team’s u
