Entrepreneur and investor Nikhil Kamath and Future Group founder Kishore Biyani have jointly launched The Foundery, a residential business launchpad designed to identify, build, and scale early-stage Indian startups within 90 days. Positioned as a co-founder factory, the initiative aims to move ideas from concept to investible businesses through intensive execution-led programmes.
The Foundery operates as a 90-day residential cohort-based programme, blending elements of a school, accelerator, and venture studio. Unlike traditional startup accelerators that rely heavily on classroom-style learning, the model places a strong emphasis on hands-on execution, rapid experimentation, and real-world problem solving.
Participants work closely with experienced operators, investors, and domain experts to validate ideas, build products, test market fit, and structure companies for scale. Founders selected into the programme can retain up to 25% equity in the ventures they help create. Startups that meet internal milestones are eligible for seed funding of up to ₹4 crore, along with continued strategic and operational support beyond the programme.
The Foundery is open to aspiring founders, early-stage entrepreneurs, and mid-career professionals looking to transition into entrepreneurship. The selection process prioritises founder mindset, creativity, resilience, and execution capability over formal qualifications or polished pitch decks. Applicants are evaluated across multiple rounds focused on idea clarity and problem-solving depth.
The mentor network includes prominent founders and business leaders such as Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Kunal Bahl, Mithun Sacheti, Varun Berry, Rama Bijapurkar, and Aakrit Vaish, among others. Each cohort culminates in a demo day, where startups pitch to a curated group of investors.
In addition to venture creation, The Foundery features a “School of Life” track, focusing on decision-making, mental resilience, and founder psychology. The programme will operate from a residential campus and plans to run multiple cohorts every year, signalling an ambitious push to build India’s next generation of startup founders.
