Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Friday reported its highest-ever annual production, manufacturing 2.255 million vehicles (22.55 lakh units) in calendar year 2025, marking a year-on-year growth of 9.3%. The milestone underscores the automaker’s continued dominance in India’s passenger vehicle market and the strength of its manufacturing ecosystem.
This is the second consecutive year that Maruti Suzuki has crossed the 2 million production mark, following output of 2.063 million units in 2024. The production figures include vehicles manufactured for domestic sales, exports, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) supplies, the company said in a statement.
Commenting on the achievement, Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi credited the company’s workforce and supplier network for enabling the record output. He highlighted that a high level of localisation across components and processes has helped the automaker scale production efficiently while maintaining global quality standards.
“A strong synergy with our supplier partners and a high degree of localisation have enabled us to achieve this scale while maintaining world-class quality. This reflects the growing strength and global competitiveness of India’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem,” Takeuchi said.
Maruti Suzuki also shared details of its most-produced models during the year. The company’s top five vehicles by production volume in 2025 were the Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire and Ertiga, reflecting continued strong demand across both hatchback and utility vehicle segments.
The record production comes at a time when India is emerging as a key global manufacturing hub for automobiles, supported by policy initiatives, export growth and rising domestic demand. Maruti Suzuki remains a major contributor to this trend, with its plants playing a critical role in supplying vehicles to international markets.
With sustained demand, a diversified product portfolio and expanding export footprint, Maruti Suzuki is well positioned to maintain its leadership and further scale manufacturing in the coming years.
