Omni-channel gifting and floral retailer Ferns N Petals (FNP) reported a 22% increase in operating revenue for the fiscal year ended March 2025, while managing to trim its losses during the same period.
According to financial statements filed with the Registrar of Companies (RoC), FNP’s operating revenue rose to ₹861.5 crore in FY25 from ₹705 crore in FY24.
Product Sales Drive Growth
FNP generates revenue through the sale of cakes, flowers, and customized gifting solutions via its website, third-party e-commerce platforms, company owned stores, and franchise outlets. The company also earns from delivery, packaging, convenience charges, and franchise related income including onboarding fees and monthly royalties.
Product sales remained the primary growth driver, contributing 91% of total operating revenue. Revenue from product sales increased 22% to ₹781 crore in FY25 from ₹641 crore in FY24. Service revenue grew 25% to ₹80 crore during the year.
Including other income of ₹7.5 crore, total income stood at ₹869 crore in FY25, compared to ₹712 crore in the previous fiscal.
Expenses and Profitability
On the cost front, material expenses accounted for 43% of total spending and rose 21.5% to ₹379 crore. Advertising expenses increased 17% to ₹184 crore, while employee benefit costs climbed 18% to ₹146 crore. Rent expenses stood at ₹15 crore, and depreciation rose to ₹16 crore.
Overall, total expenses grew 21% to ₹890 crore in FY25.
FNP reduced its net loss by 8.3% to ₹22 crore in FY25. However, margins remained under pressure, with EBITDA margin at -1.25% and ROCE at -29.13%. On a unit basis, the company spent ₹1.03 to earn every rupee of revenue.
Competitive Landscape
FNP competes with players such as IGP, FlowerAura, Winni, and Archies, while also facing increasing overlap from quick commerce platforms expanding into gifting and flowers.
The company has raised approximately $27 million to date, with Lighthouse among its key investors. Beyond gifting, it operates hospitality and event businesses under Udman Hotels and FNP Weddings & Events.
Despite steady revenue growth, improving profitability meaningfully may remain challenging amid rising competition and evolving consumer delivery expectations.
